A constraint on Solar System formation is the high 26Al/27Al abundance ratio, 17 times higher than the average Galactic ratio, while the 60Fe/56Fe value was lower than the Galactic value. This challenges the assumption that a nearby supernova was responsible for the injection of these short-lived radionuclides into the early Solar System. We suggest that the Solar System was formed by triggered star formation at the edge of a Wolf-Rayet (W-R) bubble. We discuss the details of various processes within the model using numerical simulations, and analytic and semi-analytic calculations, and conclude that it is a viable model that can explain the initial abundances of 26Al and 60Fe. We estimate that 1%-16% of all Sun-like stars could have formed in such a setting.

Objective
The purpose of this study was to investigate the 10-year impact of Hurricane Katrina on the incidence of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) along with contributing risk factors and any alteration in chronobiology of AMI.
MethodsA single-center, retrospective, comparison study of AMI incidence was performed at Tulane University Health Sciences Center from 2 years before Hurricane Katrina to 10 years after Hurricane Katrina. A 6-year, pre-Katrina and 10-year, post-Katrina cohort were also compared according to pre-specified demographic, clinical, and chronobiological data.
ResultsAMI incidence increased from 0.7% (150/21,079) to 2.8% (2,341/84,751) post-Katrina (P<0.001). The post-Katrina cohort had higher rates of coronary artery disease (36.4% vs. 47.9%, P=0.01), diabetes mellitus (31.3% vs. 39.9%, P=0.04), hyperlipidemia (45.4% vs. 59.3%, P=0.005), smoking (34.4% vs. 53.8%, P<0.001), drug abuse (10.2% vs. 15.4%, P=0.02), psychiatric illness (6.7% vs. 14.9%, P<0.001), medication non-adherence (7.3% vs. 15.3%, P<0.001), and lack of employment (7.2% vs. 16.4%, P<0.001). The post-Katrina group had increased rates of AMI during nights (29.8% vs. 47.8%, P<0.001) and weekends (16.1% vs. 29.1%, P<0.001).
ConclusionsEven 10 years after the storm, Hurricane Katrina continues to be associated with increased incidence of AMI, higher prevalence of traditional cardiovascular and psychosocial risk factors, and an altered chronobiology of AMI toward nights and weekends. The airless paint sprayer was investigated as an alternative to compressed-gas spray systems. The airless sprayer was adapted to a conventional agricultural spray nozzle system. In addition, modifications to the airless sprayer's on/off switch were made to achieve a more consistent delivery. The equipment was found satisfactory for applying either emulsifiable concentrates or wettable powder herbicides at typical concentrations in water. The addition of a conventional conveyer-belt system completed the steps necessary to make the commercially available airless sprayer a viable alternative to compressed-gas propulsion systems.

The dielectric constant and dispersion of sputtered barium strontium titanate (BST) thin films deposited on Ir electrodes have been measured as a function of frequency and dielectric film thickness. Based on the measured variation in capacitance density with BST film thickness, an interfacial capacitance and thin film capacitance have been extracted. The variation of the interfacial capacitance density and the thin film capacitance density with frequency indicates that the majority of dispersion measured for BST deposited on Ir electrodes is due to the interfacial capacitance, in contrast to results found for Pt electrodes [1]. The temperature dependence of the interfacial capacitance and thin film capacitance has also been measured for these electrodes.
